Are Langley's Roads Safe?

A sign prompting drivers to slow their speed has caused concern that the school has seen an increase in on-site safety issues. The area has been pedestrianized previously, but the addition of the warning has caused heads to turn at why it really is necessary. The sign comes less than a mile from the scene of an accident which killed a 34-year-old last year, sparking fears that the school needs to improve road safety for students.... Rowing for a cure!

Ann Atkins breaks world indoor rowing record.

On Tuesday 25th February, in the reception of Langley secondary school, mother and
police office Ann Atkins from Shirley, Solihull attempted to break a world record for
the fastest time rowing a 42k marathon in under 3hrs 33mins which will rank her 1st
in the world for her age and distance. This is part of the Brain Tumour uk’s "ROW FOR
IT" nationwide fundraising event, a charity close to her heart as Ann’s daughter Iona,
aged 12 and in year 7 at Langley has had a brain tumour for the last 7 years and is still

On the evening of Wednesday 12th February, a group of students from Langley
School embarked on a trip to Germany – this trip was to be filled with the
momentous sights of two iconic German cities: Aachen and Cologne as well as the
thrill of experiencing school life through the eyes of a German student. We departed
school promptly at 8 o’clock after first gathering within the confines of our school’s
sports hall to receive our register mark. After enduring a ten hour long journey filled
with football chants, notorious 80s songs, fruitless chatter and eventually receiving
the few hours of sleep that both students and teacher required in order to sustain us
